Job Title: Die Setter
Available Shift: 3pm- 11:15pm

Sets up machinery and equipment to run required job
Uses micrometers, calipers, tape measures, squares, calculators, etc proficiently and accurately
Performs set-up evaluations and first checks for inspection. Completes required reports and documentation
Operates presses and conducts quality checks when needed
Performs routine and preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and setup work to maintain machines according to schedules, which may require repairing and replacing parts and lubricating pieces
Performs all duties and operates machinery & equipment according to MIOSHA standards and company procedures using required safety equipment (gloves, sleeves, ear plugs, etc.);
Keeps work areas clean and orderly by sweeping the floor, removing scrap and refuse, and storing tools and parts
Other job duties that may be assigned.
The role of a Die Setter is to start production respecting objectives set in terms of Quality, Cost and Delivery. The main missions of the role are to:
Ensure proper application and follow all HSE procedures in the workplace, including the customer and company locations.
Apply the Standardized work in the workplace and participate to the improvement of standards
Work with machines and secondary equipment, on tooling issues to reduce downtime and improve efficiency.
Monitor process and product quality while conducting tooling runs
Assist in the investigation and resolution of off standard technical conditions. Ensure appropriate containment actions are in place. Advise Supervisor of any continuing problem (Line QRCI)
Record downtime, scrap, and regrind usage.
Maintain good housekeeping standards and support 5S improvement activities as needed.
Able to addresses minor processing issues and escalate/communicate major processing issues if they arise
High School diploma or equivalent
Ability to work with minimum supervision, handle multiple assignments, and work under pressure
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and scheduling boards, work standard sheets, and procedure manuals
Ability to use mathematics such as add, subtract, multiply, divide units of measure using whole number, decimals, and fractions
Ability to communicate effectively such as responding to questions from management and report project/work progress and problems
Ability to lift routinely up to 10 lbs and occasionally up to 40 lbs
Must have clear vision at 20 inches or less (close vision)
Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, push, and pull and reach and use fingers, hands and arms (dexterity)
Plastic Injection Molding: 1 year
Mold setter/change: 1 year
Manufacturing: 1 year
