Responsibilities
Keep all mechanical areas in a neat and orderly condition
Perform preventive maintenance on major equipment and systems, using a windows based computer system.
The ability to read blueprints and schematics is required, along with good mechanical troubleshooting skills
Inspect and repair various energy systems, such as the heating and cooling systems, plumbing, lighting, and kitchen equipment
Assist the Director of Engineering with the opening of the hotel, managing and scheduling contractors, ensuring building system inspections are conducted, and effectively communicating with the hotel in regard to facility-related operations
Carry out an inspection of public areas on a daily basis in case of problems arise unexpectedly
Offer maintenance and repairs to public areas, guestrooms, and administrators' office buildings.
Carry out consistent preventive maintenance programs on rooms and regularly update records on files
Work together with the front office manager and housekeeper, and connect with the manager to discuss any aspect of operations which will involve the maintenance department
Assist in remodeling and construction of new projects as may be required.
Skills
Minimum three years experience in Hotel Maintenance or a similar role or formal education
Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and heating systems.
Ability to read system schematics.
Advanced troubleshooting skills and understanding of the hotel s system and equipment procedures.
5+ years of hands-on experience with HVAC systems
Must have experience with mechanical equipment repairs, building automation systems, and energy management.
In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations, Computer skills
The ability to read blueprints and schematics is required, along with good mechanical troubleshooting skills
Must pass drug testing and background checking
