The primary purpose of this seasonal position is to assist the Parks Department in meeting
business demands by operating light construction and golf course equipment required for a wide
variety of golf course maintenance tasks. Perform ground maintenance tasks: mow greens,
tees, fairways and rough, edge, and trim grass areas. Operate and maintain greens mowers,
golf course rough mowers, fairway mowers and tee mowers. Perform preventive maintenance
on equipment: change oil and filter; grease moving parts; air up and/or change tires; sharpen or
change blades, belts, springs, chains; clean by pressure washing or with compressed air.
Operate golf course vehicle fleet and grounds maintenance equipment: including, pick-ups,
trailers, utility tractor, fairway mowers, rough mowers, greens mowers tee mowers and trim
mowers, turf utility vehicles. General knowledge of equipment and tractor operation. Follow all
County and departmental safety rules, regulations and procedures. Must be available to work a
flexible schedule including weekends, holidays and evenings, be at least 18 years old, legally
licensed and insured to operate a motor vehicle, and able to work outdoors for extended
periods.
