Seeking experienced HR Generalist to oversee all HR functions for the Los Angeles location and build the company culture. Must possess strong leadership skills, have high energy, excellent communication and commitment to providing excellent customer service. The Human Resources Generalist will oversee processes and procedures regarding employee relations, on-boarding/off-boarding oversight and more. The HR Generalist ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource requirements at both a federal and state level. In addition, key areas of focus are leadership/staff development and retention, maintaining positive employee relations, policy and labor union contract negotiations and compliance, performance management and employee engagement. Responds to a wide variety of employee queries, issues, and concerns. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide HR advice and consultation to management and exempt/non-exempt employees on performance issues, conflict resolution, policy interpretation, and other employee relations issues, ensuring fair and consistent enforcement of policies and practices 

Advocate and offer guidance and counseling to employees concerning work-related issues and work to resolve issues in a proactive and positive manner 

Strong leadership skills and able to work independently with minimal supervision

Manages guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws 

Conduct with employee orientation, as necessary  

Oversees the off-boarding process, including ensuring employees receive their final paycheck and required documents on their last day   

Coaches management on appropriate discipline level and reviews draft discipline created by manager 

Facilitates effective and positive resolution of employee issues, displaying a genuine interest and respect for people and their concerns  

Oversees Labor Law posting for all locations and for any updates during the year 

Oversees personnel file management 
Consults with and advises leadership on human resources efficiencies

Work closely with the Corporate office regarding payroll, benefits, leaves of absences and union labor matters 

Remains professional and knowledgeable by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies 

Responsible for succession planning for critical and managerial roles

Performs other projects and duties as assigned
