If so, apply with confidence for a Lead Maintenance Technician job opportunity for a manufacturing facility in Anaheim.Reporting to the Production Manager, the Maintenance Lead Hand is primarily accountable for the diagnosis, repair, and preventive maintenance of industrial plant equipment including production support equipment. Areas of specialization may include: electrical, mechanical, vacuum, hydraulic, refrigeration, machine tool rebuilding, and electrical production equipment. Responsibilities also include evaluating machine condition and repairs for repeatability and reliability.

The Lead Maintenance Technician is expected to work with minimal supervision to complete projects and assignments. Effectively manage plant maintenance and resources, as well as facility maintenance and support systems.


  • Coordinate activities, train, motivate, monitor and evaluate performance of 2 maintenance staff
  • Ensure effective operational reliability through preventive maintenance compliance programs
  • Ensure regulatory compliance as appropriate (OSHA, EPA, etc.)
  • Responsible for all processes on the shift
  • Develop strategies to target a reduction in downtime and improve efficiencies and safety in production processes
  • Oversee daily activities including preventative maintenance, overhaul schedules for sustained performance, and assist with capital projects which include working with the vendor
  • Plan, delegate and monitor progress on work assignments and projects
  • Read and understand component, machine design, electric, pneumatic and hydraulic schematics and prints
  • Support fabrication of machine components and fixtures or support the repairs and improvements of mechanical devices
  • Continuously look for opportunities to improve systems to provide greater reliability and management information (run charts, uptime data, etc.)
  • Maintain inventory stores and control maintenance materials, supplies, and spare parts at required levels by initiating purchase order requisition procedures and policies
  • Recommend and implement solutions to issues and drive continuous improvement activities in support of goals and objectives set by Manager
  • Foster a work environment within maintenance and manufacturing that promotes safety, quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement
  • Coordinate sourcing and specification of materials and components from outside vendors and contractors through the Xerxes purchasing function or directly with vendors as required
  • Provide training to operators and apprentice mechanics in equipment design and function


  • Technical Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Journeyman level Millwright
  • 10 + years Maintenance experience in manufacturing environment; Resin Application Systems is an asset
  • 10+ years direct experience programming and troubleshooting PLCs and associated interface systems, drives and servos, and electrical distribution systems required
  • Experience with EHS requirements including Hazmat and VOC management
  • Proficient mills, lathes, grinding and welding
  • Machine Control electronics knowledge at a level sufficient to support the evaluation and troubleshooting and implementation of corrective actions of complex electric controls, on both micro-processor and relay designs
  • Proven technical understanding of production equipment and engineering requirements
  • Clear understanding of resin pump and application systems
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Strong Working knowledge of CMMS program, PLC’s, MS applications including proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project
  • Familiar with 5s/Lean methodologies
  • Experience assisting with 5S/Lean initiatives in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work with people at all levels; good teamwork and interpersonal communications skills
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision on a regular basis to achieve company and department goals and objectives
  • Ability to meet physical requirements including lifting up to 20-50 lbs., bending, crouching, kneeling, and standing for extended periods of time
