We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Inventory Specialist to serve as the critical link between our warehouse and production teams. In this role, you will be responsible for managing material flow, verifying inventory accuracy, and ensuring that production receives what it needs on time and in the correct quantities. This position demands strong computer proficiency, math aptitude, communication, and people skills to support seamless operations and reduce downtime.
Schedule: Monday - Friday with occasional Saturday's, 10: 30am - Completion (8-12 hours)
Key Responsibilities:
Act as the primary liaison between the warehouse and production departments to ensure timely and accurate material flow.
Monitor, track, and manage raw material and finished goods inventory using inventory management software (e.G., ERP, WMS).
Perform regular cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies between physical inventory and system records.
Coordinate with warehouse staff to prioritize material picks and deliveries to production based on schedules and demand.
Communicate inventory status, shortages, and potential disruptions clearly to both warehouse and production teams.
Support production planning by forecasting material needs and ensuring readiness of components.
Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions, adjustments, and transfers.
Troubleshoot inventory and stock issues to minimize delays in production.
Collaborate with procurement and quality assurance teams as needed.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor s degree preferred.
2+ years of inventory control or warehouse experience, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
Strong computer skills, including experience with inventory management systems and Microsoft Excel.
Solid math skills for calculations related to inventory quantities, units of measure, and reporting.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work across departments and build cooperative relationships.
Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite.
Forklift certification or willingness to be trained.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles or inventory best practices.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed in both warehouse and production floor environments.
May involve standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and occasional use of material handling equipment.
