Job Title: Material Handler
Department: Production
Position and Objectives Summary:
Thorough knowledge of all safety regulations for material movement, handling & storage.
Thorough knowledge of all safety regulations for sawing, cutting, and nailing equipment.
Thorough knowledge of all shipping/receiving procedures, and forklift operations.
Ability to assist management in housekeeping, safety programs, and quality standards.
Accountable for all Raw Material receiving, storage, tagging, accuracy and organization
Daily distribution and securely attaching all FG tags and Raw Coil Tags
Responsible for all FG storage, transfer, tracking, and accuracy
Finish packaging, final inspection, and tagging of all FG (HS & GF)
Picking and staging of all shipments; loading trucks for shipment
Empty all scrap containers and management of all scrap storage (indoor & outdoor)
All crate & skid building required to support production; coordinate with Production Scheduling to assure crate and skid availability
Manage Inventory of shipping/packaging supplies (lumber, skids, banding, edge guards, etc.)
Manage Inventory of Safety & MRO supplies
Properly store lumber, tools, and packaging supplies
Maintain a safe and clean working environment
Thorough knowledge of the work order system and scheduling
Fork lift experience
Minimum Education Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum Experience Requirements:
Must have the ability to direct the work of general labor and material handling personnel assigned to the area to achieve maximum production safely, and to the highest quality levels.
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
Excellent knowledge of the proper use of calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and shipping/receiving procedures.
Sufficient carpentry skills to support skid building requirements
