Sr. Payroll Specialist - $28-$30 Hourly / Denver, CO - Aurora, CO
Salary range: $28-$30 Hourly
Responsibilities:
Perform daily payroll department operations, which includes maintaining and reviewing processing systems, salaries, hourly wages, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions
Manage workflows to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely
Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports
Calculate and administer final paychecks in a timely manner, dependent on state requirements
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices
Manage the garnishment process within the HRIS
Respond to year-end inquiries and assist Team Members with accessing these documents (W-2, W-2c, etc.)
Aiding in payroll related audits, as needed
Provide payroll related support to management team
Create and administer payroll related reporting to management team
Respond to payroll and wage related government reporting in a timely manner
Other HR and payroll related tasks as needed
Requirements:
Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field preferred but not required
1+ years of related experience
Knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, reconciliation, internal control, and processing multi-state payroll. California experience a plus
Working knowledge of payroll best practices
Knowledge of federal and state regulations
Strong PC skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel) and payroll software (Paycom preferred, but not required)
Strong work ethic and team player with a willingness to take initiative
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material
Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills
Ability to communicate with various levels of management
Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
