Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Must be able to stick weld, pipe fit, and rebuild dies.

Must have troubleshooting skills in hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical power and controls.

Ability to operate milling machine and lathe desired.

Must be able to use various hand and machine tools.

Must be able to read blueprints and interpret them.

Must be able to satisfactorily learn to drive a forklift.

Must become proficient in all operator skills to perform all tasks.

Must have good interpersonal skills as will be required to work with many types of personalities.

Must have a good attendance record, safety record and safety attitude.

Must have a valid driver's license issued by the state, a good driving record and be able to drive a pick-up.
Experience

Must have training in electricity, plumbing, carpentry, hydraulics and mechanical maintenance. Must have training or experience on machine tools to include drill press, lathe, vertical mill, and surface grinder.

Must have 3-5 years' experience in repair of machinery and equipment in a manufacturing environment
Education

Must have a High School Diploma or GED with shop or VoTech background preferred.

Must be able to successfully pass Standardized Reading and Math tests well as the Bennett Mechanical Aptitude Test.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

Must have good or corrected eyesight including the ability to differentiate between colors. Color sight is mandatory.

Must be able to stoop, squat and bend, as well as push, pull and lift objects and/or equipment of various weight, size and design.

Must have keen hearing to listen for mechanical malfunctions.

Must have agility of hands, wrists and arms.

Must be able to walk through departments, the plant and the grounds numerous times a day.

Must be able to climb ladders and platforms including stepping up and down from platforms and catwalks.

Must be able to lift 50 pounds from the floor up or above the head.

Must have the agility to work in tight areas.

Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
Must be available for overtime as needed.
Primary Job Functions

Install equipment, including rigging, setting, and ancillary services.

Troubleshoot and repair machinery, including injection, assembly, cubes, and all auxiliary equipment.

Makes adjustments to machinery as necessary.

Safely perform basic electrical repairs.

Perform plumbing and pipe fitting for new or existing installations.

Perform preventative maintenance operations on all machinery, including injection, assembly, cubes and all auxiliary equipment.

Report machine irregularities so that corrective action can be taken.

Completes line changeovers as needed, including molds, resin and neck inserts.

Assists in process changes.

Build platforms and guards.

Performs tasks of operators when needed or requested.

Function as team member or supervisor when assigned.

Communicates technical problems to Supervisor and Plant Manager.

Follow all company procedures and instructions.

Observe safety rules and works safely at all times.

Train others, as required.

Performs all other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Plant Manager.A a a a a a a
