Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Die Cast Engineering Manager to join our innovative manufacturing team. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and optimization of die casting processes to produce high-quality metal components efficiently and reliably. Your expertise will drive continuous improvement initiatives, ensure compliance with industry standards, and support the integration of advanced engineering tools. Responsibilities
Oversee the design, and development of die casting dies and trim tooling. Ability to develop annual and semi-annual action plans that correspond with the company initiatives. Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce defects and reduce carbon footprints. Collaborate with production teams to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues. Ensure compliance with industry, company standards, and safety regulations. Manage engineering projects, budgets, and timelines. Train and mentor engineering staff on best practices in die casting. Work with suppliers and vendors to source materials and equipment. Analyze production data to identify trends and areas for improvement. Submits proposals considered feasible to management for consideration and allocation of funds, or allocates funds from department budget.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises members in the Production Engineering Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training members; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining members; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university, or seven (7) to ten (10) years related experience and high school diploma or G.E.D., or equivalent combination of education and experience.5+ years of experience in die casting or related manufacturing processes. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. Strong knowledge of die design, metallurgy, and process optimization. Leadership experience in managing engineering teams. Proficiency in CAD software and simulation tools. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Familiarity with IATF and ISO Standards.
Travel Requirements
Must be willing and available to travel to such locations and with such frequency as is necessary and desirable to meet business needs. 1-2 weeks internationally Work Environment Requirements With reasonable accommodation: Must be able to operate a personal computer, telephone, and other office equipment. Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to operate as an effective team member. Must be committed to a high standard of safety and be willing and able to comply with all safety laws and all company safety policies.
Attendance/Work Hour Requirements
Must maintain an acceptable attendance record. Must be willing and available to work weekends and holidays as necessary and desirable to meet business needs.
