Electronic Repair Technician
Position Objective:
The Repair Technician (RT) conducts tests of electronic products and components for failure analysis to determine if repair or PCBA replacement is required. The position applies knowledge of electrical and electronics principles in determining equipment malfunctions and applies skills in restoring equipment to operation. The RT must be able to work with all the necessary tools, equipment and software to document and report repairs.
Major Areas of Responsibility:
• Perform product failure analysis for the purpose of determining appropriate repair or replacement action
• Testing electromechanical assemblies using test instruments like voltmeters and oscilloscopes
• Installing electrical / electronic parts and hardware into housings and assemblies using soldering equipment and hand tools
• Reading and following schematic diagrams, and work orders
• Perform full functional testing after repair
• Recording and analyzing test results per acceptance test criteria
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• Associates degree required / Bachelor's degree preferred in electronic or electric related engineering fields
• Strong written & verbal communication skills in English
• Computer skills and proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
• Time management and strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize job tasks
• Excellent attention to detail
• Mature, professional and diligent work attitude
• Passionate about helping people and technology
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Experience:
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in electronic or electric related engineering field
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in component level or PCBA repairs
• Must have strong electrical troubleshooting experience using but not limited to an oscilloscope, digital multi-meter and data acquisition devices
• Must have strong soldering skills for through hole and SMT components
