We are looking for a Helpline Counselor / Care Coordinator to provide telephone-based crisis support, referrals, and advocacy. This role ensures clients receive the services they need, offering crisis counseling, suicide intervention, system navigation, and follow-up care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Answer helpline calls and provide information, referrals, and crisis counseling
- Conduct suicide assessments, safety planning, and follow-up with at-risk clients
- Advocate for clients to access community, federal, and private resources
- Maintain accurate case notes, documentation, and client databases
- Participate in team meetings, training, and community outreach
- Support disaster relief efforts and special projects as needed
Qualifications:
- Strong crisis intervention and advocacy skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining high service standards
- Professionalism, confidentiality, and teamwork
- Eligible for training and certification as Information & Referral Specialist and Crisis Specialist
