The Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, repairing and maintaining large industrial textile processing equipment, as well as facility maintenance. Tasks include start-up and shut-down procedures, electrical troubleshooting, boiler work, welding and cutting, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical, or other systems. Reports to the Chief Stationary Engineer. 

Essential Functions:

  • Install, repair and maintain large processing equipment.
  • Provide preventive and corrective maintenance of this equipment and for the facility in general.
  • Handle the regular maintenance of lint traps, shaker screen barrels, oil levels, grease fittings, water levels, wastewater systems and other engineering processes.
  • Repair and maintain hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, PC, air, power.
  • Perform plumbing 3 phase 230 volt electrical, carpentry, coiler repair, welding, and general facility repairs.
  • Answer and resolve daily maintenance requests in a timely fashion, so that minimal downtime is experienced, and operational processes are continually improved.
  • Work with all plant personnel in a cooperative and professional manner.
  • Strictly adhere to all safety rules, policies and procedures required by the client and also recognized as common practice in the industry.
  • Remain current on equipment and repair procedures.
  • Properly use proper and hand tools.
  • Keep accurate and timely records of maintenance performed.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions and perform other tasks as directed by supervision. 

Additional Functions:

  • Drive and pick up parts, transport parts, etc.
  • May work with and support other plant personnel as required by supervision.


  • Have and maintain a valid driver’s license and record free of chargeable accidents, speeding or safety violations.
  • Minimum of two years maintenance engineering experience with specific knowledge of machinery, electricity, electronics, plumbing, hydraulics, pneumatics, welder and boiler applications.
  • Proficiency in the proper use of power and hand tools.
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting ability of 3 phase 230-volt systems.
  • PLC programming experience.
  • Excellent attendance record.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication n skills in English, ability to comprehend and follow direction, perform basic math, good time management skills and be a team player.


  • High School graduation or similar experience.
  • Some locations may require certifications such as boiler license or PLC programming.

Typical Physical Activity:

  • Physical demands/ requirements during the shift:
    • Standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, kneeling, working in confined areas, reaching overhead, pushing, pulling, grasping, lifting and carrying up to 100 lbs., driving, sitting, writing, speaking and hearing.
  • Typical environmental conditions:
    • Inside and outside areas of typical industrial laundry facility, which includes working with and around large machinery, variations in temperature, sound, odors, humidity, lint and dust, in general offices or on outside grounds.
  • Travel requirements:
    • Occasional, such as to procure parts.
