Product Service Engineer
AtWork seeks an experienced a Production Service Engineer for a DIRECT HIRE opportunity with our client, an international manufacturing industry leader specializing in Rail high-tech communication systems in the Sacramento market.
The Service Engineer will be responsible for supporting production equipment system testing and troubleshooting projects at customer's facilities across the US and Canada. Responsibilities: Create, perform, and report on on-site test procedures (hardware, software and networking), including full function testing of the system, on vehicles either at the train builder's facility or end customer's location, possibly in the presence of the client and/or inspectors. Investigate problems, diagnose and repair faults, and perform overhauls, repairs, and retro-fits as needed. Assist with testing devices during production and diagnosing devices returned for non-conformity. Perform regression testing on updated software prior to release to the train builder. Responsible for training the train builders and end customers on how to use the on-board and wayside software.
Requirements: Minimum 3-5 years of Software, Hardware and Network Engineer experience. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics or equivalent is required. Expertise in the domain of system testing and troubleshooting; fundamental knowledge of hardware, software, and networking technology is required. Extensive knowledge in software technology. Well organized with the ability to prioritize and work independently; strong analytical and problem-solving skills are a must. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to travel frequently, 20% - 40% of the time, primarily within North America. Experience in the rail industry is a plus.
