Skilled in fabricating and use of welding equipment (Tig, Mig and stick). Weld fittings, pipe and tubing for various manufactured products in an economical, productive manner to meet manufacturing schedules and quality requirements. Demonstrate continuous effort to improve quality and product flow. Work assignments are performed under close supervision.
Essential Function:
- Evaluate and interpret drawings, sketches and other data to be used in the preparation of product to be manufactured under the guidance of supervision and/or senior Welder.
- Select proper welding heat, type and size of weld for the correct penetration and strength of welded material.
- Cleans metal, lays out, cut, fit and weld various fittings, pipe and tubing.
- Complete shop orders as scheduled.
- Assist in other manufacturing positions to meet requirements as assigned except coiling process.
- Accurately and satisfactorily record daily activity on the computer system.
- Ensures and maintains welding equipment in good working order. All repairs required must be reported to supervision.
- Properly and safely operate forklift to move material as needed.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Work Environment:
- Position may be performed on any shift as assigned, Monday through Friday. May work weekends, other shifts and extended daily hours as required.
- May be exposed to noise levels to 110dB, dust and fumes. Will come into contact with glue and adhesives, light oil, marking oils, paint and dirt.
- Personal Protection Equipment required to include but not limited to steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, welding helmet/shield, gloves and hearing protection.
- Temperature range from 60 105 degrees winter and summer with humidity as high as 95%.
